This week, we’re highlighting Structure 10—the new Main Lift Station that will pump the raw wastewater from the existing collection system to the new wastewater facility. Structure 10’s site has various constructability hurdles, including the small footprint of the site, the proximity to the railroad, the depth of excavation required, and the presence of ground water. The Contractor opted to construct a coffer dam system consisting of metal sheets piled into the ground, reinforced with three concrete whalers to act as a shoring system for excavation and subgrade construction. After excavating inside the coffer dam, the Contractor installed rebar reinforcing and poured the Lift Station’s 1000+ cubic yard base slab and have been continuing constructing subgrade structure walls.
Big things are happening in Reedsburg, and we’re proud to be part of it!
